CRAZY MARY (Victoria Williams) is a character from the film "Sweet Relief". She lives on a curve in the road, in an old, tar-paper shack located on the south side of the town, on the wrong side of the tracks. Sometimes on the way into town, they would say: 'Mama, can we stop and give her a ride?' Sometimes they did, but her hands flew from her side as she was wild eyed and crazy Mary. They would drive down a long dirt road past the Parson's place and that old blue car they used to race. There was a little country store with a sign tacked to the side that said 'No L-O-I-T-E-R-I-N-G Allowed'. Underneath that sign, there always congregated quite a crowd who would take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around, take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around, take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around. One night thunder cracked and mercy backed outside her windowsill. In her dream, she was flying high above the trees, over the hills and looked down into the house of Mary. It described terrible thoughts and newspaper-covered walls and an empty bed where mercy had once slept.
