Dr. Huajie Jin (Lily) currently serves as a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head at King’s Health Economics (KHE). This institution is located within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King’s College London (KCL), where she also holds an Honorary Associate Professorship with the Division of Psychiatry. Additionally, she has been affiliated with the Health Technology Assessment Research Department of the Shanghai Health Development Research Centre since 2014.

Lily has extensive experience in the field of health economic evaluation, particularly in model-based and trial-based economic evaluation, cost-of-illness study, and budget-impact analysis. Her research interests lie in the development and reuse of whole disease models. Throughout her career, she has worked on various disease areas, including mental health disorders, cancer, kidney diseases, infectious diseases, and orthodontics.

If you are interested in conducting applied or methodological research related to health economic evaluation, Dr. Lily welcomes PhD applications from aspiring candidates.

Lily completed her Bachelor's in Medicine degree from Southeast University (PRC) in 2008, and subsequently obtained her Master's in International Health Policy from the London School of Economics (LSE) in 2009. Upon completion of her Master's, Lily worked at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for three years, where she was involved in the development of clinical guidelines. During this time, Lily served as the principal health economist on three NICE clinical guidelines and three NICE Medtech innovation briefings (MIBs).

In 2013, Lily joined King's College London (KCL) as a Senior Health Economist. While working there, she embarked on her part-time PhD study in 2019. The aim of her research was to develop an individual patient-level whole disease model that would cover the entire care pathway for schizophrenia services in the UK. Her doctoral thesis was recognized as "the PhD of the year" by the Health Service and Population Research Department. In recognition of her achievements, Lily was appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics in 2021.

Currently, Lily is leading the health economic analysis for several projects:

- STARRT-AKI(https://www.thebottomline.org.uk/summaries/icm/starrt-aki/):该跨国临床试验的目的是比较加速启动肾替代疗法与标准启动在严重急性肾损伤患者中的成本效益,研究对象为2,927名重危急性肾损伤患者。

Lily is currently engaged in various research projects related to healthcare. One of her active projects is the YouScreen clinical trial, which is being conducted in collaboration with the East London Community Health Programme (ELCHP). The trial aims to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of vaginal self-sampling versus the current standard call/recall system for 31,000 women and individuals with a cervix living in North and East London. The trial has been ongoing since 2016 and will continue until 2020.

In addition to the YouScreen trial, Lily is also involved in early economic modeling for new health technologies that are being developed. This involves using mathematical models to analyze the potential financial and societal benefits of new technologies, as well as their potential costs and risks. Through this work, Lily is contributing to the development of new technologies that can improve healthcare outcomes and ultimately save lives.
