Michael Collins (Jonathan Drew) is an astronaut who, along with the rest of Apollo 11 crew, is scheduled to land on the moon in 20 seconds. The landing goes awry when his craft loses control. He manages to eject, but not before he sees that his fellow astronauts, including his friend Buzz Aldrin (Lenny Venito), are killed upon re-entry to Earth. Shortly thereafter, Collins finds himself in a hospital bed in New York City with severe burns over 90% of his body. After recovering from his injuries and learning that he has only a few months to live, Collins sets out to avenge the deaths of his friends by killing the man responsible for their destruction: the ruthless businessman Roman Sykes (David Pittu). Collins also discovers that the man who sent him into space was actually an alien named Zed (Joel Brady), who had infiltrated NASA. In addition, Collins discovers that Sykes has plans to sell moon rocks to the Soviet Union as part of a plot to take over the world.
Collins becomes a fugitive from law enforcement and must use all of his resources to track down Sykes and destroy the moon rocks. As he gets closer to uncovering the truth about Zed and Sykes, he begins to realize that they are not alone in the universe and that there are other extraterrestrial beings watching Earth. With time running out, Collins must also deal with the love of his life, Lisa Parker (Stephanie Ellis), who has been searching for him ever since he left Earth. As Collins closes in on his final confrontation with Sykes, it seems that all of his enemies have conspired against him. However, with help from some unlikely allies and his own resourcefulness and bravery, Collins is able to defeat Sykes's men and save the moon rocks from being sold to the Soviets. In the end, he returns home to be reunited with Lisa and to live out the rest of his days knowing that he did everything in his power to protect humanity.
