Katerine Avgoustakis is a solo singer from Belgium. She began her career in music as a member of the band Indiana, where she participated in the national final to represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2002 with the song "Imitation Love". After leaving Indiana, she entered the Belgian reality television show Star Academy and won the contest that year. With a record contract with Universal Music Belgium, Avgoustakis released her debut album Katerine in November 2005.

In 2006, Avgoustakis was nominated for three TMF Awards, including Best Pop Music National, Best Female Artist National, and Best Music Video National. She won Best Pop Music and Best Female Artist at the ceremony. In January 2006, she also won the first Belgian pre-selection for Eurosong 2006 with the song "Watch Me Move". However, the judges thought her voice wasn't powerful enough to win the competition.

In 2007, Avgoustakis was asked to participate in the Belgian TV program "Sterren op het Ijs", which is a version of Stars on Ice. Although she came in second place after Dean Delannoit, who won "Idol 2007", she gained more attention from the public.

In May 2007, Avgoustakis released "Live Wire", which was her first single from her upcoming second album. The following months included singles "Don't Put It on Me" and "He's Not Like You", which were well received by the public. In December 2008, her second album was announced to be released on December 6th.

Over the last few years, Avgoustakis has been approached by several international labels who are interested in releasing her international album. She has stated that she would like to represent Greece at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest and has also expressed interest in submitting lyrics for one of Sakis Rouvas' national final songs for the contest.

Currently, Katerine lives in Maasmechelen and works as a beauty specialist before going on to perform as a solo singer.
