The Voice has announced two new judges for its upcoming fourth season, with R&B star Usher and Colombian singer Shakira being introduced in the trailer for the show airing on Tuesday night s final episode. Both Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green will be replaced by the pair, who will take up their roles from next series onwards.

Aguilera, 38, is releasing her first album of new material since 2011 later this year, while Shakira, 35, is due to start work on a scripted comedy series for NBC based on her own life. The announcement of the new judges was made by Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment.

Usher, meanwhile, is set to begin his third season as a judge, having previously been seen mentoring Justin Bieber during the second season. It is not yet known whether he will return for a fourth season, although he did confirm that he had no plans to leave The Voice at the end of last season's final episode.
